Material problems require quick resolution - time is money. If material
problems are not quickly addressed they can lead to customer dissatisfaction,
long term quality issues and downtime. All of these are costly.

Additive Concentration Causes Lot-to-Lot Inconsistency
A plastic compounder was experiencing a lot-to-lot consistency issue in
their parts that was affecting material properties and quality. They asked us
to compare good and bad lots of their plastic to see what the differences were.
Analysis determined that a surface active additive in the material was not
being consistently added at the same concentration. As a result of the
analytical findings, they modified how the additive was injected into the
compound.
