We live in 12 Kentucky counties, 7 Indiana counties and 1 Ohio County.

We constantly train for safety.  For example, we all learn about fire extinguishers, and then we practice by putting out controlled fires.  And that’s only the start.  About 120 of us are trained to handle emergencies involving hazardous materials.  Our trained Emergency Medical Technicians respond with our ambulance in the community if the local officials request our help.  We respect the hazards of our materials, and we plan for the unexpected.  We constantly train for safety.

We start with silicon, methyl chloride (PDF size = 16KB), methanol (PDF size = 17KB) and hydrochloric acid (PDF size = 17KB).  We make chlorosilanes (PDF size = 17KB) and silicones.  Silicones go into products you use every day like sealants, polishes, lotions and antiperspirants.  80% of Dow Corning’s 5000 products use silicones made in Carrollton.

Since 1966, we have become one of the world’s largest silicone production plants.  Dow Corning has an $800 million investment here.  We’re proud of what we do, and we work hard to earn future investment.
